There is an excellent list of music reader apps for the iPad on the appadvice.com website.

One of the most popular music reading apps is forScore ($6.99).

forScore allows you to organize PDF files for display and includes a host of options including:

  1. Creating setlists
  2. Playing an onscreen piano for starting pitch
  3. Built-in metronome
  4. Annotate PDF files
  5. and much more….

You do need to review the way the app works as it is optimized for onscreen viewing of files.

There are many excellent tutorials on forScore. Janet Lanier’s series of videos are outstanding.

My daughter has been nagging me to purchase this app for her because some of her band mates are already using it. I figure she was just trying to keep up with them, so I kept saying I will have to examine it first. Well.. it is not free in the first place. But this video has convinced me that she can use it with her flute.

forScore is a terrific app. It takes a bit of getting used to, so send her to this post to check out the excellent tutorial videos.
